Dayley, Melba girls finish atop Magic Mountain

Boys finish third outside Kimberly — Owyhee County athlete Brooklyn Dayley led the Melba High School girls to a narrow victory in the Magic Mountain Invitational cross country meet Thursday.
A senior, Dayley claimed the championship over the 5-kilometer course at the Magic Mountain Ski Resort in Kimberly with a run of 25 minutes, 37.2 seconds.
The Mustangs beat Valley of Hagerman by three points for the team championship as another Owyheean — sophomore Hayden Higgins finished ninth in 27:53.3.
Two other Melba athletes posted top-15 finishes as freshman Millie Edwards (28:44.9) took 13th, and senior Eliza Svedin (28:45.1) crossed the finish line right behind her teammate.

The Melba boys finished third in the team standings as senior Ravio Manzer was No. 3 in the individual race at 20:00.8.
Raziel Manzer took 12th in 22:13, and fellow sophomore Jack Cazier finished 14th in 22:16.2.
